The Pergamon Museum, situated on Museum Island in the heart of the city, contains the Blue Gates of Babylon, the Pergamon Temple and boasts one of the best antique art collections in the world. The Gemäldegalerie at Potsdamer Platz houses one of the most significant collections of European painting from the 13th to the 18th century.
